Mongolian Driver’s Ed Poster

1) “I have one good eye and ear.” “Alcohol and medicine are evil.” Boy spouts road sign names in robotic voice.

2) Sometimes on the way to Darhan nine male sheep will cross the road, stay at least 50 meters away.

3 - 4) Drive slowly when three yak drawn carts or 10 male sheep cross the road.

5) Don’t carry a load longer than your horse drawn cart, you will start a fire.

6) If sheep and a horseman are crossing the road, do not drive over the railroad crossing.

7) If you ride an animal, make sure to put yellow flags on its head (or stabbed in its chest if it’s a camel). Also, if your cart is empty and drawn by a horse, camel, or donkey the end of your cart will burst into flame, especially if you are going to Darhan.

7b) If you are crossing a bridge and there is a herdsman on a horse tending his sheep make sure to drive far enough forward on the bridge to block their passage.

8) If you there are sheep and a herdsman on the road drive as far to the right as possible and pass the rider. The first four sheep are fair game to run over but do not think about touching the leading five.
